Terms of Use

Effective date: July 28, 2026

The Short Version

Use the public knowledge. Cite it. Build on it. Verify important decisions for yourself.

Do not misuse the site, misrepresent authorship or endorsement, violate third-party rights, or treat educational material as a warranty, professional engagement, or regulatory approval.

The intentionally published public Gluten Free Brewer knowledge product is generally open under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). The private Knowledge Foundry and the systems used to produce and govern that knowledge are not public or openly licensed.

By using this site, you agree to these Terms.

About the Site

Gluten Free Brewer is an educational and technical resource about truly gluten-free brewing, malting, ingredients, process, history, and related subjects.

The site shares experience, research, analysis, methods, and opinions. It does not create a consulting, legal, medical, regulatory, fiduciary, or other professional relationship unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for how you use the information on this site, including decisions involving:

  • brewing and malting processes
  • ingredient and equipment selection
  • food safety and contamination control
  • labeling and product claims
  • legal and regulatory compliance
  • manufacturing and commercial operations
  • financial or business commitments

Technical information must be evaluated in the context of your own ingredients, equipment, facilities, jurisdiction, objectives, and risk tolerance.

No Professional Advice

Nothing on this site is legal, medical, tax, regulatory, financial, or compliance advice.

Consult qualified professionals and the appropriate authorities when a decision requires professional judgment, regulatory interpretation, or formal approval.

No Guarantees

Gluten Free Brewer does not guarantee that the site or its content is complete, current, error-free, continuously available, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Ingredients, cultivars, enzymes, equipment, laboratories, regulations, and brewing environments differ. A process that works in one setting may not produce the same result in another.

The site and its contents are provided as is and as available.

Intellectual Property and Public-Content Use

Ownership, licensing, attribution, and reuse of site materials are governed by the Open Content and Intellectual Property Notice, which is incorporated into these Terms.

Where these Terms and that notice address the same intellectual-property issue, the Open Content and Intellectual Property Notice controls.

Unless a page, asset, download, dataset, tool, or other item says otherwise, original public content intentionally published by Gluten Free Brewer is available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license.

Subject to that license, you may copy, share, quote, translate, adapt, redistribute, teach from, research from, and build upon covered public content, including commercially, without requesting separate permission.

You must provide appropriate attribution, identify meaningful changes, comply with item-specific notices and third-party rights, and avoid implying endorsement by Gluten Free Brewer, ImpySoft, or any contributor.

The public-content license does not grant trademark rights or permission to use Gluten Free Brewer names, logos, branding, or a contributor's identity in a way that suggests sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement.

Knowledge Foundry and Internal Materials

The public Gluten Free Brewer knowledge product is separate from the private systems used to research, govern, evaluate, maintain, and publish it.

The Knowledge Foundry, Prospector, related platform software, architecture, governance systems, prompts, workflows, evaluation methods, schemas, unpublished records, automation, and other private platform materials are proprietary to ImpySoft, LLC, unless a specific written agreement states otherwise.

Gluten Free Brewer, LLC uses the Knowledge Foundry with authorization from ImpySoft, LLC. That authorization does not grant rights to site visitors, repository users, contractors, reviewers, researchers, contributors, or other third parties.

No license to private Foundry materials is granted by access, implication, estoppel, disclosure, demonstration, collaboration, contribution, or use of this site. Access to a repository, development environment, demonstration, or internal document does not transfer ownership or create an implied license.

Public release of knowledge produced with the Foundry does not release or license the private system that produced or governed it.

Research, Corrections, and Contributions

Gluten Free Brewer welcomes good-faith corrections, technical review, research leads, protocols, datasets, field experience, and proposed contributions.

The Research and Contribution Policy is incorporated into these Terms for material submitted to Gluten Free Brewer.

A person does not transfer ownership merely by sending a question, correction, suggestion, comment, citation, or other general feedback.

A contributor who submits original material for possible publication represents that the contributor has the right to submit it and has disclosed known restrictions that could affect review or publication.

When Gluten Free Brewer accepts original contribution material for publication, the contributor grants Gluten Free Brewer, LLC the nonexclusive rights described in the Research and Contribution Policy so the material can be reviewed, edited, published, maintained, archived, distributed, and adapted as part of the knowledge product.

Unless a different written arrangement is made before publication, accepted original contribution material intentionally published as part of the public knowledge base will be made available under CC BY 4.0. The contributor retains ownership and may continue to use and publish the contributor's own work elsewhere.

Confidential and Unpublished Submissions

Do not send confidential, proprietary, embargoed, regulated, or personally sensitive information through ordinary site contact methods unless an appropriate written agreement and secure process are already in place.

The public-content license does not automatically apply to private submissions, correspondence, drafts, review notes, source material, or unpublished records.

Material clearly submitted as confidential or unpublished will not be intentionally published without permission or another valid legal basis. Gluten Free Brewer may decline to receive or review sensitive material without a separate written agreement.

The site may link to or discuss external sources, suppliers, tools, organizations, research, and other third-party material.

A link or reference does not mean Gluten Free Brewer controls, guarantees, or endorses everything associated with that third party. External content may change or disappear, and third-party materials remain subject to their own rights and terms.

The site's CC BY 4.0 license applies only to original material that Gluten Free Brewer has the right to license. It does not override rights in quoted research, third-party images, data, software, trademarks, or other separately owned material.

Acceptable Use

You may not use the site or its related systems to:

  • violate applicable law or another person's rights
  • attempt unauthorized access
  • introduce malware, abusive traffic, spam, or harmful code
  • interfere with site availability or security
  • bypass technical access controls
  • misrepresent the origin, ownership, authorship, license, or endorsement of site material
  • remove legally required notices or attribution from reused public content
  • systematically scrape or mirror the site in a manner that violates third-party rights, technical controls, applicable law, or an item-specific notice
  • copy, disclose, recreate, reverse engineer, or commercialize private Knowledge Foundry or Prospector materials without written authorization from ImpySoft, LLC

Nothing in this section prohibits lawful reuse of covered public content under CC BY 4.0.

Access may be restricted or terminated when necessary to protect the site, its users, its systems, or its rights.

Downloads, Tools, and Examples

Templates, calculators, protocols, prompts, examples, downloads, software, and other tools may carry item-specific terms.

Where no separate license is identified, do not assume that the public-content license applies to executable software, private prompts, source code, or internal tools.

All materials are provided for informational use and are not guarantees of performance, regulatory shortcuts, or substitutes for validation in your own environment.

Consulting, subscriptions, paid downloads, memberships, commissioned research, or other commercial offerings may be governed by additional written terms. When specific written terms conflict with these general Terms, the specific terms control for that transaction or service.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gluten Free Brewer, LLC disclaims all express and implied warranties relating to the site and its contents, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gluten Free Brewer, LLC and its owners, contributors, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the site or its contents.

This includes lost profits, failed batches, contamination events, product losses, labeling problems, recalls, equipment damage, business interruption, or other commercial losses.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Gluten Free Brewer, LLC and its owners, contributors, contractors, and affiliates from third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the site, violation of these Terms, infringement of another person's rights, or products and claims you create using site information.

Changes

These Terms may be updated as the site and its services change. The effective date will be revised when a material update is published. Continued use after an update means the updated Terms apply from that point forward.

No later change to these Terms withdraws permissions already validly exercised under CC BY 4.0 for content received under that license.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable United States law and the law of the state in which Gluten Free Brewer, LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where another jurisdiction's law must apply.

This provision is not intended to override any consumer right or mandatory law that cannot be waived.
